PG Impact hires KKR’s ex-Head of Africa for climate growth deals

PG Impact Investments has hired Kayode Akinola to head the impact investment firm’s newly formed global private equity direct investments practice. Most recently, Akinola had headed KKR‘s Africa investments from the global investment giant’s London office. He also becomes a member of PG Impact’s Executive Board.

PG Impact has a target of $300 million for its planned global climate growth fund which will back companies and projects involved in energy transition, electrification, industrial process optimization, and a circular economy to help achieve greenhouse gas neutrality. Akinola will be joined by Benjamin Hogan and Claude Kamga, respectively from Inherent Group and Wendel Group, in supporting PG Impact’s Climate Growth strategy.
