Mediterrania Capital Partners has promoted two executives based in the Africa-focused private equity firm’s Casablanca office to the fund manager’s partnership, bringing the complement of Partners at the investment firm to number six in total. The two new partners are Rajaa Berrkia and Mohamed Ali Adbelhak, both of whom have worked for the Malta-headquartered fund for a number of years, taking on more and more responsibilities as they progressed through the ranks to make partner.

Rajaa Berrkia has been with the firm for almost her entire career. Starting off as an analyst in 2009, she has worked in a number of capacities at the firm, gaining experience in a variety of investment and operational roles. Last year, she was tapped as the firm’s first director of sustainability, responsible for all aspects of Mediterrania Capital’s impact investing process and research, and making sure that the firm’s portfolio companies implement, manage and enhance their environmental and social performance to build businesses that offer both good returns and maximum societal benefits. She will continue to lead the firm’s activities in this area as part of her new role.
