Flutterwave was crowned Africa’s most valuable startup last week. The six-year-old payments technology firm raised $250 million from a group of new and returning investors for its Series D valuing it at $3 billion, triple the amount it was assigned 12 months ago when it wrapped up its prior round. California-headquartered B Capital Group led the group of 9 investors, of which 3 – Alta Park Capital, Whale Rock Capital, and Lux Capital – like B Capital, are first-time investors in the firm.
