The clean energy sector and exits were two, unrelated, major themes of last week’s deal and fundraising activity in Africa. To begin, three new solar plants in South Africa have been added to AIIM‘s IDEAS Managed Fund’s portfolio. The private equity infrastructure fund has acquired majority stakes in the three plants alongside Mahlako, helping them reach financial close and start construction this month. Once operational, they’ll be capable of generating 68GWh a year.
