A growth equity firm headquartered in Greenwich, Connecticut, has opened an office in Cape Town, part of a strategy to expand the firm’s research and due diligence capabilities. The new office is the third location opened by Activant Capital, a 6-year-old investment firm, following the launch of an office in Berlin last year to take advantage of investment opportunities offered by the European region.

Robert Lamprecht will head Activant’s Cape Town office. The capital markets veteran, who most recently was the Chief Executive of Renaissance Capital’s South African business, brings more than twenty years of experience to the firm. Prior to joining Renaissance in 2014, he spent more than 13 years at Bank of America, where, as a Managing Director, he held several key leadership roles including being the global bank’s Head of EMEA Sales and Head of South African Equity Sales.
