Afreximbank, the pan-African development finance institution, is currently looking to fill two Managing Director roles at its headquarters in Cairo. The organization has given the recruitment mandate to The Willis Partnership, an executive search consultancy based in London.

The first of the two is to be the institution’s Managing Director for Research and Chief Economist, reporting to Afreximbank’s President and its Board Chair.  The successful applicant will be responsible for leading a team to foster and produce analytical research that informs Bank policy and sustains balance sheet expansion and financial soundness. The department’s output will also enhance the development relevance of the Afreximbank Group in its member countries and globally.

The second of the two opportunities is to be Afreximbank’s Managing Director for Finance and Group Chief Financial Officer. The file’s prime focus is on developing, implementing, aligning, and controlling Afreximbank’s financial strategies with the overall strategy of the Group, guided by the overarching principles to ensure cost-effective utilization of the Group’s financial resources and maximization of the Group’s return on investment. The role reports to the EVP for Banking and Financial Services.

Robert Baldwin, a consultant at The Willis Partnership is handling the search. He can be reached via email at robertbaldwin@willis-partnership.co.uk
