Old Mutual Malawi has made a private equity investment in Gaia Agriculture, a macadamia nut producer, via the investment company’s ULIMI fund. The amount being invested is not being disclosed.

Gaia, which grows macadamia nuts on almost 15,000 acres, will use the capital to double the size of their growing operation and processing capacity over the next 5 years, all part of a plan to continue developing the business as a state-of-the-art macadamia export business.
